Over the last several years, the Rotary Club of Lake Norman
– Huntersville has contributed in excess of $150,000 to local
charities including The Lake Norman Community Health Clinic, The Hope
House, The Ada
Jenkins Center, The Red Cross and other local and
international charities.
This year, the Rotary
Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville has chosen several
Beneficiaries. The Lake Norman Community Health Clinic is our event’s main benefactor but a portion of
the proceeds from certain sections of the event will benefit
the following charities:
Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle – USO – North Carolina
Live Auction – Lake Norman Community Health Clinic
Silent Auction – The Hope House Foundation
Door Raffle – Rotary - End Polio Now
More information for each organization is
below.
The Lake Norman Community Health Clinic
Our mission is to provide high quality
medical care to the uninsured and the underinsured
families and individuals in a manner that is
professional, timely, and respectful. We strive to
empower each of our volunteers to make a positive and
healthful impact on the lives of those we treat; thereby
helping to create hope for a healthier and happier life.
The Hope House
in Huntersville, NC offers transitional housing and support
for single mothers and their children.
"The mission of The Hope House Foundation
is to nurture the well-being, independence, and faith of
women and their children by providing shelter, services
and support."
The mission of the USO of North Carolina
is to to serve and support America’s military and their
families.
The USO of North Carolina works continuously to enrich
the lives of America's military in the Carolinas, as
well as fund vital programs and services for these
warriors and their families.
Congress has chartered the USO as a non-profit
charitable corporation. It is not, however, a part of
the United States Government, even though it has been
endorsed by the President of the United States and the
Department of Defense. Each President has been the
Honorary Chairman of the USO since its inception
After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and
its partners are on the brink of eradicating this
tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to
root it out once and for all. It is a window of
opportunity of historic proportions.
Your contribution will help Rotary raise $200 million to
match $355 million in challenge grants received from the
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555
million will directly support immunization campaigns in
developing countries, where polio continues to infect
and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and
compounding the hardships faced by their families.
As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in
the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The
stakes are that high.
We will select other local charities during
the Rotary year (July thru June) and one International
Charity with some of our proceeds as well. In addition
we plan to offer a scholarship or multiple scholarships
(depending on the monies raised at this event) to help a
student of need and worthiness for next year's college
expenses.
