About The Rotary Club of Lake Norman - Huntersville, NC
The Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville, NC is a local chapter of Rotary International, which is truly global in scope. Thousands of local chapters make up the organization, raise charitable funds and provide assistance to hundreds of local, national and international programs and charities. Our goal is to make our local community better by providing assistance to those in need. Our local programs include scholarships for local high school students, student exchange programs, and other charitable projects, most notably, the Lake Norman Free Clinic and the Red Cross Transportation Project, which provides transportation to those in need of medical services.
We hold our annual Wine Spectacular! in October and the goal for 2008 is $100,000. All of this money is raised to then be redistributed into our local community to support projects like the ones mentioned above; and this year we look to also support Hope House which offers transitional housing and support for single mothers and their children.
Our Rotary Club members share a common interest in serving others, locally in our community and internationally. We are a diverse and dynamic group. We enjoy a special camaraderie at our regular weekly meetings, and in all of our volunteering, fundraising and social activities. Where else can you really get to know such a varied and talented group of individuals? We hope you will consider learning more about our club, even becoming a member. Most new members of Rotary join for Fun, Fellowship, Food & Philanthropy. But many learn that the rewards of becoming Rotarians are much larger than they ever imagined. We invite you to be our guest for breakfast any Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 AM at Northstone Country Club.
